Next week, Devin Lytle gets up on the stage at the YOUTH, TECH + HEALTH Live conference in San Francisco to talk about “Real Talk”, a new app she co-founded which re-invigorates the art of storytelling. We’ll be featuring the app here on She’s So Boss later next month. As Devin describes it, Real Talkwill give people a safe place to tell their personal stories, a way to reclaim important moments and share them in a judgment free environment. How can we not be impressed by that ambition?
In addition to being a fledgling internet entrepreneur, Devin happens to be a talented actress. Her break came in the Harry Potter musical parodies produced by StarKids, a musical theatre troupe out of the University of Michigan. Throughout the productions – including “A Very Potter Musical” – Devin played the part of Cho Chang, Harry Potter’s crush.
In addition to other roles in film and television, last year the enterprising actress took a step behind the camera to produce her own original series “Post-Grad” with writing partner Rachel Rosenbloom. Devin acted, co-wrote and co-produced the series, in addition to editing it.
Not short on ambition or capability, Devin has impressed us with her drive to explore and create in a variety of fields: acting, producing, editing, and inventing. Seems as if there is nothing this Boss can’t do.
And then we learned about pole dancing. On top of everything, Devin learned how to become a pole dancing instructor – an art which teaches women how to love and express themselves through their bodies – all women, all shapes and sizes, to be proud and sensual. As a result of her experience helping women get comfortable in their own skin, Devin has become quite the expert in body image. She even spoke at LeakyCon in Portland last year with So Boss’s Jacqueline Emerson on the subject.
There’s so much about Devin Lytle to admire, she’s undoubtedly So Boss this week and the other 51.
